Kindle Prize on offer from PPS at Foodex

PPS Midlands and sister company PPS East will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Foodex show to be held at the NEC 25 to 27th March on Stand G282.

The company specialises in returnable transit packaging, including plastic crates and boxes, tote boxes, plastic pallets and roll cages. PPS Midlands is located at Measham and PPS East at a new site in Grimsby. Both locations house state-of-the-art industrial wash lines capable of washing a range of plastic crates, nestable crates, plastic pallets and large plastic tubs. The company has ISO 22000 accreditation at Measham and BRC accreditation has just been awarded at the Grimsby location.

Both PPS sites offer what they term their “Total Equipment Solutions” for returnable transit equipment. In short PPS will supply say plastic food crates and plastic pallets to a client, manage the equipment in the pool, even at third parties, retrieve used equipment and wash it to the highest standards before it is returned to the equipment pool.

At both PPS sites, the client base and core business has traditionally been within the food sector. Plastic crates and plastic pallets are recognised as being most suited to the food industry due to the ability to wash them before re-use. PPS manage their own returnable transit equipment pool and offer this management service to third parties with their own returnable packaging.

PPS East has traditionally had a key focus on the fish and seafood sectors, although the company has now introduced a new marketing initiative aimed at the non-fish food sector. The company feels it is ideally situated to service the food sector due to the high concentration of food businesses in and around the Grimsby region. PPS Midlands has a number of customers in the meat, poultry and retail sectors but is now actively exploring new potential business opportunities in the waste management and other industries.

The company decided to exhibit at Foodex in order to promote its services in returnable transit packaging in general and to reach a wider target audience. During the show, visitors to PPS at booth G282 will be invited to drop a business card into a large glass bowl on the stand and at the end of the show a draw will be held and one lucky visitor will win the latest Amazon “Kindle” e-reader, along with a leather case and £30 worth of vouchers to allow the winner to download a number of e-books on to their Kindle device.

A dedicated PPS team has been involved in the Foodex exhibition headed up by Joanne Moss and Kate Williamson from the Midlands and East sites respectively. Joanne commented “We exhibited at Foodex some years ago, but since then the business has grown considerably at both sites, so we hope all existing and new customers will come along to visit us and possibly win a Kindle!”
