When we announced in January 2026 that PPS Group had joined HB RTS, we described it as the start of a new chapter. Almost six months on, we want to reflect on what that has looked like in practice – and where it is taking us.
PPS Group was acquired by HB RTS in January 2026, becoming part of one of Europe’s leading platforms for reusable and circular logistics solutions. HB RTS – headquartered in Utrecht, Netherlands, and backed by Arcus Infrastructure Partners – had already expanded through the acquisitions of TPS Rental Systems in 2024 and TPS USA in 2025. Adding PPS was the next logical step.
PPS brought deep expertise in pooling, rental, washing and returnable transport equipment, alongside a strong reputation for service and reliability in the UK food sector. Joining HB RTS in turn offered access to a broader European network, additional scale, and expanded capabilities for our customers.
As Joanne Lee, Managing Director of PPS UK, put it at the time: joining HB RTS creates new opportunities for our customers and our teams, while allowing us to continue delivering the high levels of service they have come to expect.
Integration has been advancing steadily, with a firm focus on continuity. Our facilities at Marchington and Grimsby continue to operate as before, with the same dedicated teams. Both sites now sit formally within the HB RTS network – listed alongside more than 30 locations across Europe and the US – and you will have noticed the new combined PPS | HB RTS branding. The full transition to the HB RTS name will be gradual and clearly communicated.
For customers, day-to-day service and contacts remain unchanged. What is growing is the range of what we can offer: rental and pooling solutions for crates, pallets, rolling equipment, dry and liquid containers, bag-in-box liners, and more, backed by a cleaning and logistics network spanning multiple countries. HB RTS also brings the My Reusables tracking platform, providing full RTI traceability across the supply chain – something we are working to extend to PPS customers as integration progresses.
The broader HB RTS group has continued to move at pace. A €145 million refinancing was secured in May 2025, and the group has since expanded into the United States. In May 2026, HB RTS also published guidance on the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) – now in force – helping customers navigate rising requirements for reusable transport packaging. It is an area of expertise our UK customers can increasingly draw on.
We are proud of the progress made since January. The combination of PPS and HB RTS is about building a more resilient and sustainable business – one that can support customers locally and across international supply chains.
